holdAxis
Control the erasure of the axis of the current 2-d plot prior to the drawing of the subsequent plots.
holdAxis on
holdAxis off

Description
The following commands
>> plot(x, y)
>>axis([0 10 0 1])
>> holdAxis on
>> plot(u, v)
will first display the plots of (x,y) , and then use the same axis limits to display the plot of (u,v) after erasing the curve for (x,y) .
Example
>>//In the following example the plot of the traveling wave sin(x-ct) is displayed.
>>function createWave(x, dt, c)
>	t=0
>	// First plot
>	y=sin(x)
>	plot(x,y)
>	axis([min(x)-.1, max(x)+.1, -1 1]);
>	holdAxis on
>	return @drawfunction;
>	// called by the timer
>	function drawfunction()
>		t=t+dt
>		y=sin(x-c*t)
>		// Subsequent plots
>		plot(x,y)
>	end
>end
>>// timer set for every 0.3 seconds
>>w=timer(300,createWave([0:.01:1]*5pi,.1,.1))
>>w.start()
